Honeycomb Vase, Sculpted Resin Vessel

A round sculptural vase with a deeply carved honeycomb surface, cast in resin, in rust or black and in two sizes: 18 cm across and 20 cm tall, or 30 cm across and 34 cm tall. It is for a console, an entry table or the floor beside a chair, with a few dried stems or nothing at all.

The whole body is covered in irregular hollow cells, like worn stone or a dried honeycomb, so the light breaks into many small shadows across it. Rust is a warm, earthy terracotta that sits well with walnut and linen. Black is deep and graphic, best against pale plaster or stone.

The small size suits a shelf or a bedside table; the large one stands on a sideboard or the floor as a piece in its own right. Resin keeps it lighter than ceramic of the same size. It is made for dried branches, grasses and paper flowers rather than water. Dust it with a soft dry brush to reach into the cells.
