Stoneware Coffee Cup and Saucer, Solid Wood Saucer

A glazed stoneware coffee cup on a solid wood saucer, in three finishes: Oat Speckle (240 ml) and two Star Ring cups with a turned wood ring handle (about 8.5 cm across, on a 16 cm saucer). The low, wide profile is built for a flat white, with room for the crema to spread rather than sink.

Oat Speckle is a soft matte oat glaze flecked with natural speckles, with a squared loop handle that sits naturally in the fingers. Star Ring Stone swaps that for a turned solid wood ring handle on a pale speckled body, so the handle stays cool while the cup is hot. Star Ring Wild Brown is the same wood ring shape, kiln fired so the glaze drifts from pale sand at the rim down into deep umber at the base.

Each cup is glazed and fired individually and every wooden saucer shows its own grain, so small differences in tone, speckle and the point where one colour turns into the next are part of the set rather than a flaw.
